My name is Robert Beech, and I think I have always been a creative person. In my career I have worked in computer animation, performing arts, music, effects make-up, sculpture, and photography.
For a few years now, I have been producing tintype portraits at Civil War reenactments in the mid-west including Greenfield Village and the annual event at Gettysburg.
Unlike many tin typists who disappear into their tent to produce their images, I work out in front in full view of the guests (especially children), explaining each step of the process and it's historical significance.
I hold teaching degrees in Technology and Art. In our digital/smart phone/Instagram world, most young people don't have a clue about what this modern technology is based on.
